Matt Varga “New team, new shoes” is a phrase applicable to nearly half a dozen NBAers for this upcoming season. A product of both the increased player movement in the modern game and a robust footwear landscape supporting double-digit brands in basketball, some of the game’s biggest names will have new threads from head to toe once regular season action begins. It goes for Ja Morant, for LaMelo Ball, for Giannis Antetokounmpo, and of course, for The King. Beyond his flagship LeBron 24, his takedown line is plotting a new model, as official images of the Nike LeBron Witness 10 hit the ‘net.
Though the Soldier line defines his early days under Nike, the Witness series has carried his cost-conscious banner into LeBron’s back nine. While each iteration has performed moderately well in its own right, the Witness 9 had particularly drawn attention for a range of Bronny James PEs, bringing the father-son connection into the realm of footwear. Despite that, Nike clearly didn’t shy away from real experimentation with this next step.
Whereas the 9 built a bulky profile out of a chunky sole and overlapping synthetics in the upper, the LeBron Witness 10 shifts to fabric mesh in its upper, continuing checkerboard textures into a semi-translucent sole unit. Within that, we catch a glimpse of the Crown motif that Swoosh designers have leaned on so heavily in Bron’s recent output. Two alternating colorways are on tap for this debut: a pristine white/gold and a black/neon green, notable for its use of glow-in-the-dark finishes underfoot.
The Nike LeBron Witness 10 is expected to drop sometime between October and the end of the year, retailing for $105 in adult sizing and $95 in grade school runs.
