Sneaker News With NBA Media Day producing a steady stream of sneaker first looks, Nike found a different way to put Dybantsa and the GT Flight into the conversation. On a day when every player is trying to get noticed, a giant glowing Swoosh certainly gets the job done.
AJ Dybantsa brought the Nike GT Flight back into the spotlight at Washington Wizards Media Day, appearing in a wildly customized version of the upcoming basketball shoe complete with a massive light-up Swoosh.
Dybantsa gave us our first look at the GT Flight over the summer, introducing one of the models involved in Nike Basketball’s effort to revive its classic Flight, Force, and Uptempo categories. For Media Day, he and Nike took the “Flight” concept to new heights.
The customized GT Flight features a pod extending from the heel, housing an oversized Swoosh logo that actually illuminates when powered on. The attachment dramatically alters the silhouette of the shoe, turning the performance model into something closer to a wearable display piece. These are confirmed to be a PE for Dybantsa only.
