Matt Varga When “Space Jam” first hit theaters, we only had the Retro roster to enjoy. We wonder what Michael Jordan or any of the film’s principals would have thought if they’d known just how far Jordan Brand would take the film’s concepts and iconography in the three decades to follow. In that thought exercise, no doubt what we’re facing down right now would be the biggest shock, as a catalog-wide celebration is kicking off this November, now adding the Jordan Spizike Low “Space Jam.”
Interestingly, this Jordan Spizike Low is titled the “Jam Central,” a promotion name attached to the web presence for the 1996 classic. Perhaps that leads to the cybernetic slime green utilized in the outsole, midsole, and side window, but overall, ’90s style vibrancy defines this pair. Peach runs down the midline before additional aquatic blue wings bolster a jet black body. As with the rest of this capsule, an Air Bugs logo lives on this pair before special edition packaging reflecting the film’s most lasting iconography closes out this variation.
