The 2026 NBA draft was a major moment for Reebok. With the revival of its basketball division, the brand already has a “face of the franchise” on the women’s side, with WNBA finalist and perhaps soon-to-be champ Angel Reese developing her signature shoe throughout the past year or so. It’s no discredit to current brand wearers like Matas Buzelis or Tre Mann, but we already knew that the first men’s signature athlete would come from this year’s talent pool, as Darius Acuff’s NIL deal confirmed a sig shoe before he ever logged a minute in the NBA.
With Acuff sporting a fire red colorway of the Reebok Engine A for his regular-season debut as a King, it’s only right that his cohort peer follows suit. Nate Ament will touch the floor in Milwaukee to begin his rookie campaign time wearing a “Brew Crew” colorway of the Reebok Engine A 26, the follow-up to the brand’s first basketball design in a decade-plus. Beyond the suede materiality on this pair, brand-new in the Engine A 26 history, this also marks the debut of his crossed signature logo on this silhouette, having initially graced a Rwanda-inspired PE in his college days.

As for the story behind this pair, any Wisconsinite and/or MLB fan will know that a historic series begins tonight: the first Fall Classic since 1980 to feature two franchises that have never won the pennant. Because of the monumental occasion for the city, or perhaps for more ulterior, attendance-based motives, the Bucks moved their home opener from 8 PM to 4 PM to cede space to the “Brew Crew.” That connection only grows deeper with Ament’s pair featured here.
Reebok confirms that this “Brew Crew” Nate Ament Reebok Engine A 26 PE is for his use only and will not be released to the public. You’ll be able to catch this pair on foot during this afternoon’s Bucks-Bulls action.
