It’s sometimes easy to lose track of exactly how many different shapes the Air Force 1 has taken in recent years, only further complicated by the recent experimental streak that Beaverton has shown on Bruce Kilgore’s design. If you struggled to distinguish between the Lunar Force 1 and the Air Force 1 LV8, the furry “Color of the Month” series or the “SquAir Force 1” has likely only served to further muddy the picture.
However, we certainly remember the “Tech Essentials” concept, staying true to the base composition that’s made the sneaker a street titan for decades, yet still nudging the silhouette forward. Here shown in three new fall-forward editions, the erstwhile basketball shoe pins a fabric mini tag that hangs off of the Swoosh, a touch that’s given raised geometric texture in this subtle spin-off. “Triple Black” is ever hard to argue with, so it’s only right it’s included in this set, but a subtle grey and a flooded olive round out with some additional everyday palettes.
The Nike Air Force 1 “Tech Essential” should be coming soon to Nike.com, retailing for $115 a piece. Catch official images included below.
