It may have been rough around the edges to start, but from the moment that the trade was official, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been fighting to get accustomed to Miami. That extends to his footwear as well, as a “South Beach” colorway of his sig shoe has already demonstrated. Giannis’ on-foots are far from the only game in town, however. In addition to Andrew Wiggins’ and Klay Thompson’s deals with Chinese brands, Bam Adebayo continues to shine as one of Jordan Brand’s foremost non-signature athletes, something his cache of PE colorways tends to remind us of.
Through the beginning of this year, Bam has spread the love when it comes to his game wear, donning partner A’ja Wilson’s A’Two, the inline Jordan Triangle, and returning to the shoe he scored 83 in: the Air Jordan 40. It may not have seen the hardwood floor during this or last year, but in-hand images of a “Scooby Doo” colorway of the Air Jordan 40 minted in his honor have just come to light. With its mash-up experimentation as the 40-14, 40-16, or 40-23, we’ve known throughout the AJ40 journey that it’s one of the more versatile Jumpman products, yet this still marks a first.
Actual hairy material on the shoe replicates Shaggy’s best friend, with the collar aligning with his teal accessory. To our knowledge, Adebayo hasn’t publicly declared himself a fan of the series (nor has the character endorsed the player, but we digress). That leaves the inspiration behind this shoe a mystery, but you can play sleuth yourself via the in-hand images included below. If you wear the same 16.5 shoe size as the Heat’s center, this pair is up for grabs HERE.
