The adidas Forum ’84 Hi doesn’t boast the mainstream popularity of other models within the German sportswear behemoth’s roster, but (so far) it’s made 2021 its year. For its latest style, the premium take on the once-basketball-court-staple indulges in a clean and versatile “Grey One/Orbit Grey/Footwear White” color palette.
Unlike some mainline iterations of the silhouette, the forthcoming pair maintains a one-to-one build borrowed from the inaugural design from 37 years ago. A plethora of smooth leather panels appear from forefoot to heel, with suede joining the mix at the profile 3-Stripes and reinforcement towards the rear. Trefoil branding on the lateral ankle and adjacent suede swaths around the collar boast a greyscale style that nods to yesteryear, but simultaneously delivers a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Although the sneaker has been replaced by models like the Harden Vol. 5 as adidas‘ top-line performance-hoops option, it features a lockdown strap at the top of the tongue that once delivered an optimized fit to countless athletes.
Stateside adidas.com release details are still unknown, but this high-top adidas Forum ’84 begins rolling out to select stockists in Europe on March 20th. Enjoy images of the pair here below while you wait to secure your pair.
Elsewhere under the Three Stripes umbrella, the Yeezy Foam Runner “Sand” arrives on March 26th.
