Despite their nine-game winning streak shattered by the Dallas Mavericks, the Utah Jazz is still likely to be top seed in the West as long as things pan out the way they have throughout the season thus far. And with the commencement of the NBA Playoffs arriving soon, the Jazz’s Donovan Mitchell is dropping a a black and gold offering of his second signature adidas shoe, the D.O.N. Issue 2, possibly suggesting at a Finals-or-bust mentality.
Uppers of the model are constructed of black lightweight mesh, matched by the tongue and exaggerated heel elements. Gold zig-zag stitches and a pattern that appears to emulate tiger stripes are applied to the toe, in which the animal print has also been seen on a previous D.O.N. Issue 1 release. In award-winning fashion, the medial side sees a large gold overlay stitched on, which reads “CHAMPIONSHIP” across in black. The metallic tone is also splattered throughout the midsole, with the heel exhibiting Three Stripes branding. Bounce cushioning and a rubber outsole complete the champion-ready, on-court style.
Take a look at the official images below while waiting for the D.O.N. Issue 2 to hit adidas.com on April 9th.
In other news under the adidas umbrella, the Prada Luna Rossa 21 is coming back in a dark silver colorway.
