Where there’s sustainability, Nike’s Happy Pineapple is not far off. And with this forthcoming Zoom Type Premium, the anthropomorphic fruit takes the helm yet again, signaling the pair’s recycled nature.
This is evident across the sole, whose yellowed shell marks over top with dark brown scraps in perpetuity. Underfoot, the same material is blown up, replacing the entirety of the outsole. Cork, yet another Move to Zero texture, then supports along the upper as it accents both the counter and eye stay in matching shade. The rest of the construction is far less forthright and also far more understated. Though likely part-recycled themselves, the black mesh base, tumbled leather overlays, and lining kept it simple in dark black, while their accents contrast in Volt stitch, blue, hex-patterned Swooshes, and the titular Happy Pineapple motif.
