Sneaker boots are back in full force. adidas Yeezy made that all too clear. Even Nike is joining back in on the fun, upping their selection near tenfold. Here, the Air Force 1 appears in yet another boot-like rendition, this time adding sustainable elements to the mix.
The brand has pulled out all the stops on its Grind-constructed midsole, collaging what may be the largest amount of scraps thus far. Above, the Nike logo at the heel is similarly executed, while the retreaded outsole offers a far more typical composition. At the collar, a recycled fleece is used throughout, its grey-dominant threads rife with hints of red, blue, and the like. As for the rest of the upper, the leather and synthetics, while lacking any obvious signs of reuse, feature entirely new paneling. Gone is the AF1 we’re familiar with; instead, the look is turned more futuristic, delivering a ghillie lacing system, reinforced heel, and a mudguard replete with the same stars that are used underfoot.
Enjoy an official look at these below and sit tight as we await their Nike.com release.
In case you forgot, the Cool Grey 11s are landing later this December.
