While far removed from the decade that birthed it, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 continues to deliver late-20th century style to modern-day audiences. For its latest ensemble, the made-for-basketball proposition has emerged in “Medium Grey” suede.
Akin to dozens of Nike SB-modified iterations, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a hairy fabric across much of its upper. Reinforcement at the toe and lateral forefoot also follow suit, while profile swooshes introduce synthetic smooth leather into the mix. Further harkening back to its debut in the 1970s, the mid-top Nike Blazer features a slightly yellow tone at the aforementioned sidewall logo and the sole unit underfoot, the latter component resembling the sea of “Neo-vintage” customs that’ve engulfed countless social media feeds over the last two years. Together, each component helps create a proposition that’s equal parts “old school” and “fresh,” a combination that NIKE, Inc. has mastered.
Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch date as spring and summer inch closer.
