Sneaker News After the official images of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita”, a release was expected to arrive soon. Today, Nike SNKRS reveals the official release details of the first Kobe release since Vanessa Bryant announced that the estate of her late husband would renew its partnership with Nike.
The Mambacita Kobe will release in two ways: first, it will release through Nike SNKRS Exclusive Access on May 1st – the date of Gigi Bryant’s Sweet 16 Birthday. Select Nike members who “…have embodied the Mamba Mentality from the beginning and the young hoopers that have pushed Gigi’s love for the game forward…”. We presume this condition to define those who have made purchases of Nike Kobe product in the past, or have engaged with Kobe content on the SNKRS App.
The Kobe 6 Mambacita will also release via SNKRS Pass in the Los Angeles area beginning today (April 29th). Those in the area will have access to the Draw-like entry for a chance to purchase the shoes. The draw window will open at a random time on April 29th, with pick-ups available on May 1st.
Select stores in the Los Angeles area will be releasing the shoes via their own raffles; see the store list below.
Profits from the sale of the Kobe 6 Protro ‘Mambacita Sweet 16’ will be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Update: Nike SNKRS Pass is scheduled for 4pm EST in Santa Monica, The Grove, Watts, East LA, and 5PM EST for Undefeated stores.
