While the Caped Crusader’s winged insignia wasn’t officially affixed on the Air Max 95’s 2019 release, the “Batman” vibes were nonetheless ever-present through the silhouette’s darkened aesthetic adorned with golden yellow accents. Following the sudden passing of Kevin Conroy this week – the voice of DC’s animated Batman for over 20 years – the Gotham Knight’s color scheme is reenacting on Sergio Lazano’s design for a well-timed yet unconnected posthumous homage.
Identical in its predecessors’ sole unit color blocking, a dark shadow grey outfits the entirety of the midsole and tread while its exposed Air Bag are filled with “Laser Orange” hues. Color-matched along its suede mudguard anchored with a mini white Swoosh, the latter textile works its way up the greyscale overlays that finish with a white mesh upper. Further brightened by way of crisp white laces, its sock liner and a mesh tongue, the cadmium yellow shade of the Dark Knight’s tool belt concludes along the aforementioned tabs trim and heel’s embroidered Check.
While we sit tight on further release details regarding the pair, enjoy official images of the grade school-exclusive Air Max 95 “Grey/Laser Orange” below in the meantime.
