Matthew M. Williams’ Nike MMW 005 Slide Resurfaces In A Light Grey Colorway

Matthew M. Williams, founder and creative director of 1017 ALYX 9SM, has been working with Nike ever since 2019, crafting both collaborative footwear as well as training apparel under the umbrella of “MMW.” Their relationship is confirmed to continue in 2023, as a brand new colorway of the partnership’s MMW 005 Slide was just revealed by way of official images.

First brought to life in the Fall of 2022, the Nike MMW 005 Slide came at a time where the style was extremely popular. But unlike the works of competing brands, Williams’ contribution was far more brutalist in its aesthetics, intertwining function with his distinctive design language. And for the model’s return, all of the original features — such as the dual-foam, plate-reinforced outsole, the perforated foam upper, and the underlying drainage holes — are in tow, only this time clad in a light grey colorway.

For a closer look at this forthcoming MMW 005 Slide, see below. At the time of writing this, a release date has not yet been revealed; it’s likely, however, that a launch will accompany the onset of warmer weather.

Looking over to Jordan Brand, new images of the upcoming Air Jordan 3 Lucky Green have just surfaced.
