For Nike, the Air Max 1 very clearly takes precedence this year. Alongside bringing about the return of the “Big Bubble,” the Swoosh has prepared the classic in countless new colorways, from the “Design by Japan” to the AF1-inspired “Timeless.” The Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette is even paying homage to a relic from its past — namely, the “Chili” that originally released back in 2003.
This Nike Air Max 1 ostensibly draws direct design cues from its above-mentioned processor, adopting a very similar color blocking. The tones, too, are not unlike that of the older pair, though there are several key differences. Among these, the grey suede overlays are the most immediately apparent, as they’re far lighter than the leathers used on the “Chili.” But save for these panels as well as the lining, outsole, and tongue label, much of this upcoming colorway should feel familiar, with its blacked out mudguard and red-hued Swoosh, eyelets, and branding.
Enjoy an early, in-hand look at this Air Max 1 ahead. A firm release date has not yet been revealed, so sit tight and stay tuned for further updates.
In other news, a huge CDG PLAY Converse Restock just landed earlier today.
