Returning a majority of its core defensive players on the gridiron while securing their first transfer portal signee on the hardwood in Caleb Love, things are certainly looking up for University of Michigan Athletics. While the program’s exclusive brand deal with Jordan has kept both athletes and alumni fitted to a tee, The Swoosh has additionally invigorated the Wolverines fan base with a “BTTYS” Terminator Low and now an ideal Air Max 97 to rock on game day.
Introduced via a dominant wash of white, the colorless shade envelops the Christian Tresser design’s grid-layered mesh base layer while color-matching its above embellishments in a cloudy association; i.e. the laces, tongue overlay and TPU strips cast across the upper. While whites are omnipresent, the silhouette doesn’t look to its typical black contrast, instead harkening to the university’s synonymous dark navy tint that coats the sock liner, pull tabs, tongue tab and mainstay nubuck mudguard. Additionally injecting the latter within the full-length Max Air unit underfoot, a seldom wave of “Marigold” illuminates the embroidered Swoosh and a singular strip of the TPU to finish off the Go Blue connection.
Tentatively scheduled to release this upcoming summer, enjoy official imagery of the Nike Air Max 97 “Michigan” below in the meantime.
For more from the Beaverton-based brand, the Air Jordan 1 “Lucky Green” releases next Saturday, April 15th.
