For the past eight years, the Jumpman has invested heavily in the next generation. Through the Jordan Wings Program, they’ve helped committed students realize their true potential without the stress of college payments or loans. And in addition to providing these rising talents with the tools to succeed — giving out not only scholarships but also constant support throughout their academic careers — the brand has crafted many a sneaker to commemorate the hard work of the graduating class.
Come later this June, Jordan Brand will be honoring the Scholars Class of 2027 with a special rendition of the Air Jordan 2 that simultaneously pays tribute to the immense impact of Jordan Brand VP of Affairs Howard H. White. Dressed in a “White/Malachite/Black” colorway inspired by his Kecoughtan High School Varsity team, White’s favorite Air Jordan silhouette features a look reminiscent of the ’87 OG that’s packed to the brim with intimate details.
The translucent heel piece features a golden foil college style “H”, reminiscing to White’s University of Maryland jersey that featured the lone letter. Hits of green appear where red would typically be found while the side panel is made to resemble a literal pair of wings, its hand-sketched feathers printed in a photorealistic fashion. Housed within original Air Jordan 2 packaging pulled directly from the late 80s, the premium leather and satin constructed offering looks to a closing imprint of “Power” and “Belief” on each lace tip.
Enjoy a closer look at the Air Jordan 2 “Wings Program” ahead. These are expected to release on June 10th via the SNKRS app in women’s sizing, with more details likely to be shared soon.
In other news, official images of the Air Jordan 2 Low Quai 54 was just revealed.
