Back in 2016, Team Jumpman reimagined the iconic Air Jordan 1 “Bred” with a satin upper. Although the shoe was highly-coveted, it was only limited to 501 pairs, leaving countless sneaker enthusiasts – especially women – disappointed. Jordan Brand is ready to redeem itself, however, as it’s re-releasing the satin-covered retro come the holiday season.
First rumored in late January, the “Satin Bred” Air Jordan recently surfaced in lifestyle photography that delivers the best look yet. The sneakers take on the same color-blocking as they did in 1985, with “University Red” and “Black” tones sharing the spotlight. Leather panels, however, are replaced with luxurious satin overlays, injecting a softness to the women’s-exclusive remake of the Jordan 1. Eyestays take on an AJ1KO-like finish, while “Wings” logos on the lateral ankle flaps are embroidered. Underfoot, the satin-covered offering keeps things close to original form, donning a “White” midsole and ruby-colored outsole that complement the upper well.
Enjoy detailed photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for firm Nike SNKRS launch details. A tentative release date has been set for October 18th.
