The Nike Air Max Plus has been quietly celebrating its 25th anniversary over the last eight months. Original ensembles aren’t expected to return until 2024 (go figure), but the Tuned Air pioneer is treating fans to fresh new styles in the meantime.
Recently, Sean McDowell’s iconic design from 1998 emerged in a predominantly blue finish. While similar to the original “Hyper Blue” pair, the upcoming option features light streak outlines where its palm tree-inspired TPU overlays typically are. Mudguard panels are also omitted, but their place is reserved by the same printed detail. Glossy black panels land at the tip of the forefoot and spine, contrasting the gradient blue textile that makes up the bulk of the upper. Silver accents appear on the top of the tongue, with sole units opting for a white and light blue theme. Sockliners reveal a schematic of the Tuned Air system underfoot, confirming the sneaker’s “blueprint” theme.
No firm nike.com release date has been confirmed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as 2024 inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair ahead.
