Detachable Shrouds Bring Water-Resistance To This “Olive/Brown” Nike Air Force 1 Low

Detachable Shrouds Bring Water-Resistance To This “Olive/Brown” Nike Air Force 1 Low

What hasn’t the Nike Air Force 1 done?

Since debuting in 1982, Bruce Kilgore’s “presidential” silhouette has taken on various updates, helping popularize new technology, marrying performance and fashion, and more. As the fall and winter seasons approach, the design has emerged with removable, water-resistant shrouds. The ripstop nylon component attaches to the mixed-materials upper via a series of hooks lined along the profiles. The non-shrouded upper indulges in an autumn-appropriate combination of dark green, brown, and yellow tones. Iconic sole units underfoot abandon the top-half’s color scheme in favor of a straightforward white and gum brown arrangement. Unlike Air Force 1 styles modified for tough terrain, the outsole doesn’t seem to have been updated with more aggressive grip. The detachable shroud, then, is likely meant to protect the sneaker under limited circumstances, not under all conditions.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon.
