The Hall Of Fame inductee dropped 62 points against the Wizards on March 10th, 2004.

Tracy McGrady Dropped 62 Points In The adidas T-MAC 3.5 — And They’re Coming Back

There truly was nobody like T-Mac. While he never got far in the Playoffs, let alone win a championship, Tracy McGrady was the most feared individual with a basketball for a time until injuries deemed him one of the more tragic “What If?” case studies in NBA history

On March 10th, 2004, McGrady exploded for an insane 62 points in one game, which was quite the feat as it came during a defense-heavy period. Adding to the mythology of that performance was the fact that a 60-point game hadn’t occurred in four seasons. It was also the first 60-point game by a non-Center position player since Jordan did it in 1993.

During that game, McGrady wore the T-MAC 3.5, a shoe that adidas is planning to bring back in 2023 as part of its Restomod executions, which stays true to the original external designs, but updates internally where necessary. The first such T-MAC 3.5 will be a white/royal/red version; the OG white/royal colorway is still TBD.

A firm U.S. release date is currently unknown, but it’s dropping in Asia on October 28th.
