Amidst a range of inline styles, the Nike Air Max Plus is preparing for a more advantageous celebration of its 25th anniversary one year removed in 2024. Alongside the return of OG installments like “Sunset” and Voltage Purple”, the Sean McDowell design will be indulging in its coastal inspirations soon enough with a titular homage to the “Caribbean Sea”.
Bearing palm tree-inspired TPU overlays and a whale tail mid-foot shank, the upcoming Tuned Air construction composes a palette equally reminiscent of the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean. The silhouette injects its legendary gradient-filled upper with a titular turquoise hue that deepens into a jet-black heel counter. While pitch-dark shades consume the sole unit and the upper’s various overlays, a duo of crisp white profile swooshes illuminates the gloomy surroundings underfoot. Stamped with the pair’s synonymous TN heel tab and a gradient-coated shank, the oceanic aesthetic complements the model’s “Poseidon” counterpart from May.
The Nike Air Max Plus “Light Retro” is currently expected to release overseas via ATMOS on December 1st, so it’s likely we could see a stateside release before the year ends. In the meantime, the pair can be seen below in official imagery.
In other news from the Beaverton brand, the Jordan 3 “Fear” arrives on November 25th.
