Hybrid Jordan Brand inventions rarely appease the tastes of sneaker traditionalists, but the Jordan 2/3 might be a rare exception. The low-top fusion of the Air Jordan 2 and Air Jordan 3 exudes the look of an original design in its own right, marrying the upper of the AJ2 with a Jordan 3 sole unit for a cohesive look packed with streetwear appeal.
Jordan Brand appears set to debut the silhouette through two classic treatments later this summer, one in “White/Black”, and for our purposes, another in “Varsity Red.” The colorway of focus here offers appeal through familiarity, the rarely seen Jordan 2 Low having been treated to a “Varsity Red” makeover by the hands of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White banner in 2021. While the non-collaborative Jordan 2/3 departs in more than a few ways, it’s unmistakable upper offers a relevant tie-in.
There’s not much else to be said regarding the design of this pair, as both the base and sole independently follow the design cues of their original cuts. White leather encompasses the upper in a familiar look, while red accents bring eyes to the heel on the shoe’s midsole, lining, and TPU detailing. A sail-tinted midsole completes the delivery underfoot, hosting visible grey air units and matching tread down below.
The Jordan 2/3 “Varsity Red” is currently anticipated to arrive this summer in both adult and grade school sizes. See detailed images below as anticipation builds, and visit our Jordan Release Dates page for the latest Jumpman news.
