adidas’ collaborative stable is always filled to the brim, featuring characters and imprints from a truly international cast. Just under two weeks ago, a new Japanese brand entered the mix, delivering the adidas x ALWAYTH Samba collection. Continuing the newly minted partnership, the two are uniting once again on the adidas Gazelle, this time wearing some everyday inspiration for two fresh pairs.
Gingham laundry bags, a staple of neighborhood errand runs everywhere, are worn proudly and centrally on the Three Stripes branding. While it may not be reflected in terms of color on either conservatively clad pair, their influence continues materially on the base layer, where ripstop nylon takes over. Nubuck on the eyestays and T-toe bring elevated appeal without sacrificing “all conditions” functionality. Finally, storm cloud branding at the heel and two tone laces add some closing touches to the design of both shoes. Either pair slides as a sleek option with some storytelling juice and as promised by ALWAYTH’s name, All Weather utility.
The ALWAYSTH Gazelle Indoor releases on May 31st in Japan, more than likely remaining an overseas exclusive in the same way the Sambas did. Those able to get their hands on a pair should expect a 18,700 JPY price tag awaiting them. Either way, take a look at some product photos just ahead.
Back in the US, Three Stripes basketball is still celebrating the success of Anthony Edwards’ shoes– tap in for the latest release info on the AE1.
