Nike Shox are Kendrick Lamar’s sneaker of choice, but can the retro running series reach mainstream consumer consciousness again? Nike certainly hopes so. As part of an ongoing retro push, one of the series most popular models, the Shox R4, has picked up a more consistent release schedule comprised of throwback looks like the original “Metallic Silver” colorway on top of fresh, all-new formulations. This “Green Strike” pair falls in the latter of those two categories, set to arrive Holiday 2024 for $150.
Given the shoe’s monotone green color and projected Holiday 2024 arrival, there’s an obvious comparison to be made to the Kobe 6 “Grinch.” Red laces are all that’s truly needed for a comparable aesthetic, but in truth, the Shox R4 has been the subject of such vibrant, neon applications long before Kobe Bryant Nike shoes came to light.
Consistent with the “Racer Blue” colorway from earlier this summer, the titular “Green Strike” color accounts for nearly the entire shoe, save only for “Metallic Silver” Swoosh logos and detailing. Notably, the first few years of the 2020s saw a surge in neon-centric fashion, with brightly colored footwear and apparel finding renewed life on runways and city streets all the same.
If you’re still riding the neon wave, look for the Shox R4 “Green Strike” to hit shelves during the Holiday 2024 shopping season for $150. Scroll through official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming shoes.
