Nike started its outdoor unit in 1989, two years after the Air Max 1 shook up the running world with its visible Air unit. So when you see the All Conditions Gear branding on the Nike Air Max 1 ‘ACG Pack’, you might think of older friends taking you out to celebrate your 21st. This particular Dark Shadow colorway has the quality of being all at once vibrant, high-contrast and yet somehow there’s a subtle perfection. Maybe it’s the pink laces, and the ACG-style ruggedization is a big plus, but in any case these are clearly one of the more energetic Eighty-Sevens we’ve seen in 2010 and they’re available right now from shaolin8 on eBay.
