Bordeaux wasn’t originally a color, but rather, a French region and port city where close to a billion bottles of wine are corked each year. And with nearly 90% of those being red varieties, it’s easy to see how the word became synonymous with a rich and complex red shade. ‘Bordeaux’ is also not the first Jordan Son of Mars release as it was erroneously nicknamed, that multicolor-accented ‘Pop Art’ model not really all that similar to the Air Jordan VII from which the wine-inspired name was appropriated. This new Son of Mars is much closer, but in this mixture of bright outdoor light coming inside and hitting a cellphone’s CMOS censor, we see a more washed out grey build and the outsole’s blue hit pushed toward a minty look. Let us know how you feel about these images’ overall lighter appearance and stick with Sneaker News for updates in advance of the September 15th release date. Photo: TSG
