Nike Sportswear is honoring legendary runner Joan Benoit Samuelson through their upcoming Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection through four premium women’s exclusive releases on Thursday, October 6th. The collection embodies the fierce competitive spirit of Samuelson, the first-ever winner of the Women’s Olympic Marathon when the competition was introduced at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection utilizes the ever-popular “Triple Black” aesthetic through premium constructions on the Nike Classic Cortez, the Nike Air Max Thea, the Nike Air Presto, and the Nike Air Huarache Ultra. Each pair dons a subtle cracked cement print reminiscent of Tinker Hatfield’s iconic elephant printed aesthetic for a subtle, yet premium twist to each exclusive pair. The insoles read “There is no finish line” in an effort to bring Samuelson’s legendary achievements to the forefront.
