Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are on the cover of the latest SLAM NBA season preview issue, and why wouldn’t they be? 2 of the top 3 players in the NBA joined forces on a team that won a historic 73 games last season and was just one victory away from sealing the deal on back-to-back NBA Championships. Of course, there is a little bit of brand rivalry between Steph and KD given Curry’s unceremonious departure from the Swoosh after they couldn’t pronounce his name right in a presentation and even left a slide with Kevin Durant’s name on the header. For more of that story click here.

But during the recruitment process of Durant, Steph said that brand loyalty rarely figured into the equation and that it was strictly a basketball decision – that if KD ended up on the same team as him, it would be good for both brands. We’ll still have to wait and see how that all plays out. On the SLAM cover, KD opted for a fresh pair of his signature Nike KD 9 in an all royal blue Flyknit construction with contrasting yellow Swoosh branding for a standout look. Steph opted for something on the simpler side of things with an all white UA Curry 3 Low (and no, don’t call these the Chef Curry 3s).
