The Nike Air Max Plus OG “Sunset” Is Releasing Next Week

With its 20th anniversary upon us, the Air Max Plus is ready to occupy the spotlight once again. Long a favorite overseas — especially in London, where it’s an essential part of roadman culture — the Plus has begun re-releasing in beloved OG colorways, the latest of which to hit the market is the classic “Sunset” makeup. Designer Sean McDowell drew the original inspiration for the design from a beautiful Florida sunset, giving the mesh upper a striking ombre effect that fades from a light orange to a vibrant crimson and truly earns the shoe its nickname. Wavy black synthetic overlays mirror the sway of palm trees in the tropical breeze, and branding arrives via a classic Tuned Air heel badge and red midfoot swoosh. A black mudguard and translucent plastic toe cap provide finishing details to the upper, and the shoe is then completed by a white midsole with a two-tone midfoot plate and an orange Air Max unit. If you’re looking to add this piece of Air Max history to your sneaker rotation, you can look for these lovingly recreated TNs to release November 24th at select Nike stockists.
