Michael Le Come this Friday, November 27th, Kiko Kostadinov will be officially welcomed into the ASICS brand, the Bulgarian designer and his team now an integral part in the Japanese footwear brand’s Sportstyle line. Their inaugural release, the UB1-S GEL-Kayano 14, will be releasing not only in the previously revealed men’s colorways but also a complementing duo of women’s exclusives.
The first, which strings together hits of “Oyster Grey” and “Pink Glo,” may be familiar if you kept up with the partnership’s official announcement. Paraded throughout campaign imagery, the pair lenses the classic runner through a vibrant filter, most of its most signature elements — e.g., the GEL cushioning, heel counter, overlays, etc. — now hued in brighter shades. And while the aforementioned neutral dresses most of the forefoot and instep here, the accompanying scheme prefers it at the back in support of the “Midnight” shades at the tongue, toe box, and mid-panel as well as the red and pink that share space atop the Tiger Stripes.
