Well, it’s about damn time.
If there was ever a sneaker high on the list of “song” requests by sneakerheads, it’s this – the Air Max 90 “Spruce Lime”. As one of the original colorways of Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 90, the “Spruce Lime” has held some high esteem, matching that of the far more accessible “Infrared”. While the latter has seen countless re-issues as the focal point for any Air Max 90 campaigns, the Spruce Lime never got its due from the Swoosh on a re-issue standpoint. The lone exceptions came in 2008 as a JD Sports exclusive, back when the retailer carried some of the absolute best exclusive releases in the world (they now own Finish Line and have a formidable global retail presence), and with the underrated Air Max 90/1 hybrid release from mid-2018.
The “Spruce Lime”, like many of the original set of colorways, makes of a white leather/mesh base, and leans on a great color combination of the signature Spruce green, vivid Hot Lime, and a cooling grey to form one of the best color combos in running shoe history, period.
Although Nike has targeted the year 2020 for all significant Air Max 90 drops, it’s a safe bet to expect these in the early part of 2021. Check out the official images here and expect them at the retailers below for $140.
Updated December 28th, 2020: The release date is confirmed for January 25th, 2021.
