When brands were desperate to appeal to the fashionable crowd, tonal colorways were the quick and easy go-to. And though it’s been a relatively long time since they’ve employed such schemes, New Balance seems to be heading back in that direction for 2021 as they’re soon to dress the 2002R fully in Stucco Tan.
The construction has received a sizeable bump in quality as well, with many of the mesh fabrics replaced for a full outfit of suede. So, as visually evident, near everything is composed of the same texture and same shade. There are only a few contrasted points: the “N” logos are heavily textured at their base, thicker, smoother leather strips dress throughout the upper in seldom, and a few of the branded fonts are given an extremely noticeable yellow fill.
