Action Bronson

Action Bronson (real name Ariyan Arslani) is a cultural maverick from Queens, New York City, a chef-turned-rapper who now stands as one of the more significant movers in the footwear world. Though most now know him for his work with New Balance, Action Bronson has managed partnerships throughout his career. He released a capsule with PRO-KEDs in 2012 and further made a splash with adidas in 2018. His juice with the Three Stripes was likely highest as he flexed two collab Ultra Boosts, though those sample styles would never hit the public.

However, even amid dalliances with other brands, the multi-hyphenate was never shy about his love for the suede runner styles that ruled the early 2010s. Given that said scene was dominated by brands like ASICS, Saucony, and New Balance, it seemed like a matter of time before Bronson made things official. The mutual respect between Bronson and the latter brand finally led to a concrete partnership in 2023, the duo coming together to release two New Balance 990v6 colorways.

While the Boston brand is home to many an important designer, 2024 stamped Action Bronson as among its most treasured partners. Look no further than the wide acclaim for their New Balance 1906R capsule for proof. Each of the “Medusa Azul,” “Rosewater,” and “Scorpius” pairs became instant sellouts and would eventually warrant heavy consideration in “Sneaker of the Year” conversations. Before the year was out, the rapper chipped in another capsule centered around athletic performance, kitting the New Balance Minimus Trail in a “Pluto” colorway and the Fuelcell Rebel v4 in a “Foxtrot.”

Jump to the present, and the Action Bronson New Balance partnership remains an incredibly healthy and fruitful one. Their first capsule of 2025 brought two more eclectic colorways to the New Balance 990v6, the “Azamonia” and the “Untitled.” Either shoe paired neutral overtones with hits of red and blue, sensible and suitable follow-ups on the silhouette that started his NB catalog.

To culminate that release, the Queens MC hosted an extensive pop-up in New York City, at which he revealed his next checkpoint: the Action Bronson New Balance 992. As he celebrated his appearance in the film “Caught Stealing,” he confirmed that his debut on the silhouette would again be a duo, adding the vibrant “Digitalis Purpurea” into the mix.

The “Tiger Eye” Action Bronson New Balance 992 was released via his specializinginlife.com site on September 19th, with a wide release expected on September 26th. The “Digitalis Purpurea” is still pending.
