Cade Cunningham figures to be a key face in the future of both the NBA and Nike Basketball. The Detroit Pistons point guard has already seen his franchise do a complete 180 during his tenure, going from historically bad to one of the most formidable teams in the Eastern Conference.
Nike signed Cade just before he was drafted first overall by the Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft, and he quickly became a face of the Nike GT Cut series, the brand’s premier non-signature basketball line. In 2025, Cade signed an extension with Nike that included the promise of a signature shoe, expected to debut during the 2026-2027 NBA season. In the meantime, Cade has made the Nike ST Charge his own, giving us our first proper Cade Cunningham shoe release with his “Detroit Tough” PE in May 2026.
