Ahead of the NBA Draft 2021 scheduled for Thursday, July 29th, reports have surfaced stating that the projected #1 overall pick, Cade Cunningham, has signed an endorsement deal with Nike.
While the former Oklahoma State point guard’s destination hasn’t been determined yet (although it’ll likely be Detroit), this endorsement deal would be the highest-earning shoe deal among Cunningham’s draft class, according to ESPN Senior NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski.
Having averaged 20.1 points per game and 40% from the 3-point line in just 27 games played, the Texas-native will be a welcomed addition to any team he joins. And if he can continue improving on his game while wearing the latest from the Swoosh (perhaps the Nike Zoom G.T. Cut), it’s likely Cunningham will help push the brand further into the mainstream consciousness, while positioning himself as one of the future faces of both the brand and league.
Elsewhere in sneaker news, the Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” has been all but confirmed for a December 11th release date.
Cade Cunningham — the expected No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft — has agreed to an endorsement deal with Nike, sources tell ESPN. It’s believed to be the highest-earning shoe deal among players in his draft class.
