Nike Basketball always celebrates Black History Month in style by dressing up their signature models in an array of African tribal prints for the festive occasion. Past years have seen regal combinations of Black/Purple-Gold, so when a LeBron 13 leaked featuring a similar colorway, that led to the assumption that the look would be returning once again for 2016. Fortunately for those that don’t want to retread past inspirations, this year focuses on “Power Of One” and a Multi-Color array of blues, oranges, greens, and reds all depicted rather differently depending on the model.
Earlier today we showed you the Nike Kobe 11 BHM (releasing January 18th) that uses a unique Flyknit pattern on the mid-section to contrast bold solids of royal and black. The Nike Kyrie 2 BHM (releasing January 18th) showcases the unique theme through a graphic-heavy strap and multi-color blocking on the outsole. The Nike LeBron 13 BHM (out January 18th) is perhaps the boldest of the bunch thanks to the Megafuse upper displaying an all-over graphic while the Posite takes a backseat in a jet-black. The Nike KD 8 BHM (dropping January 18th) surprisingly ditches any Multi-Color on the Flyweave, instead opting for the look to land subtly on the Swoosh branding and tongue in a similar pattern to that found on the Kyrie 2. Also included is an Air Force 1 High as well as a cleated on-field soccer cleat that also brings in the traditional prints.
