The Foamposite line continues to be the personal playground of team Sole Swap, whose specialty at this point is definitely those groovy looking Nike Air Penny sneakers. The latest custom is not a dye job or even a re-painting across the upper. Instead what’s been applied is an all-over 3M treatment to the Nike Air Foamposite One, leaving the sneakers looking stealthy enough in the daylight but giving them an insane flash when the light is right. Continue reading to see the Nike Air Foamposite One “Full 3M” job from Sole Swap and let us know how you’d feel about a retail pair like this.

How long do we have to wait till the original “Royal” version of the Nike Air Foamposite One comes back around again? The sneaker was retrod pretty recently, so we’d guess it won’t happen for another couple of years at least. But you will be able to grab a royally inclined pair this year anyway in the form of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Sport Royal” shown here. The release date hasn’t been locked down quite yet, but they appear to be on their way for a September arrival. Owing to the stupendous popularity of the ‘Galaxy’ release, we’ve seen a variety of Foamposite customs take on sky-based themes. Most of them have been celestial, but this latest drop takes advantage of the timing on the edge of summer to celebrate another nightime light phenomenon. The ‘Fireflies’ Nike Air Foamposite One by Nift ‘Rocket Boy’ Ferrara makes reference to the immortal summer night passtime of catching lightning bugs with a design blending a starry sky with a forest landscape and GITD outsole treatment. Let us know how they compare after you’ve seen more shots below and stick with Sneaker News for the latest customs.

The celebrity set seems to be particularly interested in the custom sneaker scene. It makes sense though-they’ve got type of clout that these creations require and they’ve got pressure on them to have unique sneakers in an era when everyone’s a “sneakerhead”. Busta Rhymes is the latest customer, having called upon the skills of Sole Swap man Jason Negron for a light up pair of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Fighter Jet” and another more standard colored pair. Continue reading for the photos of Bussa Bus flaunting his pair and let us know if you think the light-up treatment is a good look.

The Nike Air Penny line is one that’s long been mixed up in the “royal” look thanks to the Orlando Magic connection. This new colorway actually dons two separate version of that shade, “sport” and “game”, across its upper. Those tones, combined with the grey, have garnered them a “Magic” nickname in some circles, but shouldn’t such a designation already go to the OG Nike Air Foamposite One colorway? Let us know what you think in the comments and stay tuned to find out more on this pair, which is currently rumored as a September release.

Penny Hardaway’s 1997 OG ‘Dark Neon Royal’ Nike Air Foamposite One is a truly iconic colorway. So this new style pictured above has some huge shoes to fill, but it’s off to a good start. The ‘Sport Royal’ Foamposite One steps outside the classic formula but stops short of going for a graphic treatment, utilizing a Wolf Grey eyestay/tongue/lining setup that really draws your eye to the namesake blue upper. It’s a sign that we’ve really only scratched the surface of what’s possible with the original Foamposite shoe, and you can get a closer look at this September 2013 release in more photos after the jump.

Remember when Penny Hardaway himself showed us this Nike Air Foamposite One colorway back in February of this year? Another angle of the sneakers has finally shown up, pretty much promising that they’ll make it to retail sooner or later. The upper has a blue base that looks not too far off from the OG royal, save for the fact that there appears to be a metallic sheen sort of in the same vein as the “Metallic Red” and “Suns” pairs. Tell us if this Nike Foamposite sneaker is one you’re looking forward to and check back in for updates regarding the rumored September 2013 release.
