Ahead of the sneaker’s expected drop later this month, new detailed images peel back the curtain on what fans can look forward to.
For the uninitiated, the China-exclusive “Tianjin” Foams released in 2015 as an homage to the city credited with helping bring basketball to China. Tianjin was also selected to host the Chinese Basketball Museum five years later. Lotus flower and carp fish graphics cover the upper, along with elements of Fuwa, the official mascots of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The game of basketball has seen immense growth in China in the years since the OG “Tianjin” Foams dropped, and Nike Inc. has been along for the ride, highlighted by global tours for its signature athletes, “CHBL” PE releases, and a steady stream of activations across both Nike and Jordan Brand. As such, the timing feels right for a follow-up.
The Nike Air Foamposite One “Tianjin 2.0” swaps its predecessor’s black accents for white while maintaining the hallmark graphics. The outsole also swaps from red to an all-new, potentially glow-in-the-dark green shade.
