Update: We have learned that this sneaker is officially called the Nike Air Yeezy (More photos here)
There were a lot of speculation of what Kanye West was wearing during the 2008 Grammys. The swoosh was spotted on the sneakers but didn’t know if it was just a new Nike sample he was wearing or if it was a sneaker he designed with Nike. He rumored he wanted to design one and was seen sketching a Nike sneaker while on the Nike Air Jet from Beaverton to NYC for the 1Night Only performance (see below). This week on the NY Times The Moment Blog Kanye had this to say about his Grammys performance: “I had on a pair of Nikes too, but I can’t talk about those because they’re not out yet.”
