The adidas Superstar has been around for a long time and has seen its fair share of materials and colorways over the years, but now the classic shoe receives one of its boldest color schemes yet as part of the adidas Originals collection. With the NBA season ready to tip off, adidas will introduce this flashy Los Angeles Lakers-inspired version of the legendary shoe, a tribute to last season’s NBA Championship. Rather than going with the predictable purple/yellow palette, the Lakers Superstar swaps out the yellow for some shiny metallic gold leather. Sections of purple and yellow suede provide the accents with a white toe cap, midsole and lining giving the shoe a touch of the traditional Superstar flavor. As a cherry on top, the insoles feature the Lakers’ logo and the number 15, a nod to their impressive 15th NBA title. If you’re a Lakers diehard or just like these kicks, you will find them at select adidas retailers beginning November 1st.
