The Air Max 1 midsole is surely a welcome guest but the upper construction featured a mish-mash of materials and designs that did not flow: A quilted front end with a synthetic center panel and a Nike Shox R4 -like “nose” were featured in the Tricky but the parts never added up. The Air Max Tricky appeared to be an Air Max shoe designed for action sports, with a seemingly chunkier build and a design fitting the sport genre; however after its initial release, the Tricky was buried and very few colorways followed.
