Earlier this month Sneaker News showed you a special pair of the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke designed for Reggie Holloway. Reggie was a respected member of the sneaker community and was noted for his impressive collection of Nike Air Force 1s. After his tragic passing in March of this year, ReggieAF1.com was created and Holloway’s Bespoke came to life, with all the funds provided by donations from the sneaker community. The financial goal for the Bespoke was met in just 24 hours; Reggie’s friends and fellow sneakerheads put their own interests aside to ensure Reggie was honored in the appropriate way.
Reggie’s Bespoke was inspired by the Houston Rockets uniforms of the later 90’s-early-00’s and was constructed in a marvelous mix of suede, leather, and 3M reflective material, and included was a special dog-tag with Reggie’s full initials. The shoes came packaged in a commemorative wooden box with special lasering of Reggie’s Houston logo as well as a full listing of all the generous donors. Nike Sportswear matched the contributions of Reggie’s friends and family by creating an extra pair of the Bespoke, and both were presented to the Holloway family – one pair for Reggie and another for his father, who shares his son’s passions for sneakers.
