In celebrating its 20th Anniversary, China-based sports outfitter Li-Ning has collaborated with a number of notable figures in art and design to form a series of great apparel. Toy artist Tim Tsui teamed up with Li-Ning to create an altered version of the 001 low-top shoe; it features a patent leather upper, translucent midsole, and a high-rising tongue with the visage of one of Tsui’s characters. The most interesting aspect of the shoe is the removable ankle/strap apparatus, which transforms the mid-top to a low-top shoe with a super-high tongue, somewhat of a cross between a pair of Jeremy Scotts the adidas Equation. Take a look at the detailed shots after the jump and let us know what you think of this great design. via HS.
