Their ‘Gazelle’ Mid is absolutely nothing like the original, so it shouldn’t shock you to see a slightly unexpected design from David Beckham and James Bond‘s ObyO capsule for adidas Originals. Here’s Becks-n-Bond’s take on the adidas ZX800, a sneaker that admittedly looks more like its original than the aforementioned Gazelle Mids. Beckham’s ZX800 erases the original’s side panel Three Stripes, and while the OG ZX800 sole remains intact, the rest of the upper has also been altered. Pretty much all of the Eight Hundred’s signature design elements, from the triangular toebox cutouts to the midfoot plastic eylets — they’re all gone. Instead what you’ve got here is kind of like a ‘shell’ of a generic running shoe in a simple colorway that should satisfy plenty in the lifestyle market.
