The newest combination platter in the Air Jordan Force Fusion menu is the Air Jordan X, Jordan’s first known retirement shoe (the Air Jordan IX was designed before MJ made his announcement). The most interesting feature of the Air Jordan X is surely the bottom sole, which details Jordan’s yearly achievements from his rookie campaign to his retirement, with 1994’s crowning achievement left somewhat blank with a ‘BEYOND’. What might seem like a farewell tribute to Michael Jordan was actually an open-ended good-bye, as Tinker himself stated the Jordan X design was with Jordan’s return in mind. That he did, as Jordan returned late in the ’94-’95 season (they really needed him, the Bulls sans-MJ were a .500 team for most of that season). It returns again in 2010 as part of the Air Jordan Force Fusion Collection, with the ‘Steel’ colorway being the first of such releases. The Steel AJF 10 is set for an October 9th release but House of Hoops in Paris will have them available on October 5th, so take another look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for all Jordan Brand info and updates.
