Buffalo plaid was the signature streetwear look emerging in winter 2007 and subsiding as more intricate and western plaids started to dominate last year. With this shift in weaves, it’s only natural for the Woolrich x Converse collection to move away from the checkered look and into something that’s nearly all-black (everything). The Woolrich x Converse Jack Purcell LTT Ox is pictured above in its simplest edition yet: a black wool upper with a white sole. But to suggest that these are just a thoughtless mashup would be to ignore the unique black stripe that circumnavigates the sole and gives these an almost wingtip feel.
