Jordan Brand recently released the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ as a tribute to Michael Jordan’s love of the game and his outstanding play during the 1992 Olympics. But Jordan didn’t participate in 1996, but his teammate Scottie Pippen sure did, nabbing his second Gold Medal as an American Olympian. This year, Nike will also pay some respect to Scottie Pippen, the ultimate wingman and teammate, by releasing the Nike Air More Uptempo in the Olympic colorway. Featuring a white and obsidian upper with red accents and a metallic gold trim on the Air Unit and ‘8’ on the heel, the Air More Uptempo ‘Olympic’ will release for the first time since 1996 and be available at House of Hoops locations. The Air More Uptempo is one of the most celebrated and era-defining sneakers in Nike’s history, so the return of this Olympic-inspired shoe should be considered one of the best of the year.
