Years before Nike SB existed, guys like Neil Blender and Lance Mountain were shredding in Swoosh sneakers. They’re the reason many modern skate shoes have basketball styling: because the impact of kicks like the Nike Blazer and Air Jordan 1 was so far reaching that they became a natural choice for exactly the type of intrepid young man who was your pioneering skateboarder. Interesting to see all of this come full circle, then, and not on collaborative kicks with either Blender or Mountain (though both have already been done), but instead on a series of Nike SB ’80s Photo Tees that depict scenes like Mickey Reyes wallriding over a couch in a pair of what looks to be either a BTTYS-era Dunk High or an OG AJ1. Check out the entire collection in images after the jump and look for these as part of the Nike SB November 2011 collection. via N-SB.org
