Desperate for new ways to make a 2.5×3.5″ piece of cardboard palatable for consumers, the trading card companies began embedding game-used jersey swatches into select cards. About a decade later, player exclusive sneakers are the new hot in-game memorabilia, and they’ve got a huge edge because you can actually use them! A case in point is the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Brandon Roy PE pictured above. This colorway will be a big hit in Portland, but the mostly black look signifies their creation for use in the Trailblazers’ away games. And with a red B-Roy PE releasing just last week, you gotta wonder if Nike Basketball will send these to retail, possibly as a HoH-only drop.
